Pneumatic Plans

Finally!! I'm getting to this page so here we go!!!

The Leftover!!!

The leftover is a gun made from crap I had lying around. It is a pneumatic gun so you need an air compressor or a bike pump to fire it. For best results use the Versa-Barrel system

Parts: (all Pvc is sch. 40)

1) 20"  long piece of 3in dia. Pvc pipe

1) 3in end cap (not threaded) (Pvc)

1) reducer or reducers from 3in to 1 in make sure that the biggest reducer (from 3in) is a flat reducer! (one that is flush with the pipe) (Pvc)

2) pieces of 1in Pvc pipe 6in long

1) 3x3x1.5 T piece (Pvc)

1) piece of 1.5 pipe about 6in long

1) 1.5 in end cap (not threaded) Pvc

1) 1.5in female threaded piece (for versa-barrel system only)

1) Schrader valve (tire valve)

1) 1 inch Pvc ball valve

1) 1.5 to 1in reducer or reducers

1) can of PVC glue

1) roll of Teflon tape

1) can of purple primer (read instructions on can for how to prime and glue)

Assembly goes as follows:

Warning: All joints must be airtight be generous with glue!!!

Glue the 3in end cap on one end of the 3in pipe. Glue the 3x3x1.5 tee on the other end. Take the short piece of 1.5 and glue it into its respective place in the T this will be your handle. Glue the 1.5in end cap on to that piece. Glue the reducers into the remaining side of the T. Glue a short piece of 1in piping into the reducers and glue the ball valve (perpendicular to the 1.5in handle) onto that. Glue the other short piece of 1in piping into the other side of the ball valve and glue the other 1 to 1.5 in reducer onto that. Then glue the 1.5in female piece onto the reducer. Last but certainly not least drill and tap a hole the size of your threads on the Schrader valve on the 1.5in end cap and Teflon tape it and thread it in! Wait overnight to dry and then to fire:

1) screw on barrel (versa-barrel system only)

2) shove in and ramrod spud until about an inch from the bottom of the barrel. (with ball valve open)

3) Close ball valve.

4) Charge your cannon to 80 psi  you may have an air compressor that can be set, a bike pump with a gauge, or a tire tester (this works great). This gun takes very little time to pressurize.

5) aim and open the ball valve as fast as humanly possible. You might want to attach a handle to the ball valve so you can open it faster.

6) Watch the spud, drool and repeat!!!!

The Predator!!!!!

The biggest ball valve spud gun known and owned by me!!!

(This gun is based on the SC-3000 on Spuddy's Revenge) This gun uses the Versa-barrel system.

What you need: everything is sch. 40 PVC

5 feet of 4in pipe

1 4in end cap (not threaded)

1 4in coupler

short piece of 1.5in pipe

1 4in-2in flat reducer

cable ties

5 feet of 2in pipe (you will cut this up as we go along)

2 2in 90° elbows

1 2in to 1.5 reducer

1 2in ball valve

1 1.5 female threaded adapter

1 Schrader (tire) valve

1 air tank gauge to at least 100 psi

couple pieces of wood (junk around shop)

1 can of pvc glue

1 can of purple primer

Teflon tape

Special tools:

Threading tap the same size as the Schrader valve threads and your gauge threads

Assembly goes as follows:

ALL JOINTS MUST BE AIRTIGHT

Prime and glue the 4in cap on one end of the 4in pipe. Prime and glue the coupler onto the other side. P&G the reducer into the coupler. P&G a piece of 2in about 6in long into the reducer and P&G an elbow onto that. Get another piece of 2in about 6in long and P&G it into the elbow P&G the other elbow onto that so the open end of the elbow is overlooking the gun (this is a switchback design). Get a piece of 2in pipe about 2 feet long and P&G it into the elbow P&G the ball valve onto that (don't get glue in the valve) get the last peice of 2in and hack off about 4inches and glue it into the ball valve and then P&G the 2 to 1.5 reducer onto that. Then find a short piece of 1.5in and P&G it into the reducer and the female end onto that. Locate a convient place on your air tank that you can put your gauge and tire valve. Make sure it is not in the way when you shoot the gun. Get a scrap piece of pipe and drill and tap some holes for practice so you don't screw up on your gun and also to figure out the right drill size. Well then drill and tap away where ever you have selected to put your valve and gauge when you screw them in use two or three wraps of Teflon tape and screw them in tightly. Now find something laying around that will work for a ball valve support like a piece of wood or plastic cut it to size and put it under the ball valve and against the air tank (this is for when you put a really big and really cool barrel on there so it won't snap off your ball valve and keeps the elbows leak free cause the aren't bending) and tighten it up with cable ties (loop a few together). And also put a handle on the ball valve to open it faster I take a peice of wood and notch it and screw it to the red handle on the valve. Make this solid for it will be abused.

LET GLUE DRY FOR 24 HOURS OR IT WILL LEAK!!!!!!!

Well now you have a Predator air cannon I would suggest you use a 10 foot 1.5 barrel for optimum performance.
